Chile: Business confidence drops in March
Latest reading: The business confidence index fell to 50.4 in March, following February’s 52.3. Still, the latest reading was above the threshold of 50 that separates optimistic from pessimistic sentiment.
In March, firms grew less positive about the retail sector (+53.0 vs +57.7 in February), the industrial sector (+47.5 vs +49.3 in February) and the mining sector (+63.8 vs +64.7 in February). On the flipside, businesses grew more optimistic about the construction sector (+38.8 vs +38.5 in February).
