Latest reading: Economic sentiment increased to 106.8 in March, following February’s 105.7. The latest reading was above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
In March, sentiment brightened in the industrial sector (+4.9 vs -0.1 in February). In contrast, sentiment worsened in the construction sector (+11.1 vs +12.9 in February), the services sector (+17.4 vs +20.9 in February), the retail sector (+9.4 vs +12.3 in February) and among consumers (-10.8 vs -8.8 in February).
