Cyprus: Economic sentiment eases in May
Latest reading: Economic sentiment ticked down to 106.1 in May from April’s 106.2. Consequently, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected weaker sentiment in the construction and services sectors. On the flip side, confidence among consumers, as well as in the industrial and retail sectors, strengthened.
Regarding indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations were healthier, while the economic uncertainty index fell in May.
