Finland: Economic sentiment increases in January
Latest reading: Economic sentiment went up to 96.9 in January, following December’s 95.9. The latest reading was below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
In January, sentiment improved in the industrial sector (-0.7 vs -1.2 in December), the construction sector (-22.9 vs -29.2 in December), the services sector (+6.5 vs -0.6 in December) and the retail sector (+2.2 vs -1.7 in December). On the flipside, sentiment darkened among consumers (-8.7 vs -6.5 in December).
