Finland: Merchandise trade deficit increases in January
Latest reading: In January, the trade balance was EUR -0.4 billion, following a EUR -0.3 billion figure in the prior month. Over the last 12 months, the trade balance summed to EUR -1.2 billion.
Merchandise exports increased 7.0% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in January, coming on the back of a 3.4% drop in the prior month. Merchandise imports increased 9.7% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in January, coming on the back of a 5.5% fall in the previous month. January’s reading was the strongest since April 2024.
