Greece: Harmonized inflation drops to lowest level since June 2024 in April
Latest reading: Harmonized inflation dropped to 2.6% in April, below March’s 3.1%. April’s result marked the lowest inflation rate since June 2024. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, housing and utilities plus recreation increased at slower rates in April. However, prices for transportation rebounded.
Annual average inflation edged down to 2.9% in April (March: 3.0%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 2.0% in April from the previous month’s 2.4%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.47% over the previous month in April, a smaller increase than the 1.89% increase logged in March.
