Hong Kong: Inflation picks up in October from the prior month
Latest reading: Consumer prices rose 1.2% in annual terms in October, following a 1.1% increase in the previous month and driven by higher price pressures for food and transport. However, inflation remains well below the global average, kept in check by mainland China’s huge manufacturing capacity.
Finally, consumer prices rose 0.27% in October in month-on-month terms, following a 0.09% increase in the previous month.
