Hungary: Economic sentiment worsens in January
Latest reading: Economic sentiment declined to 95.1 in January, following December’s 100.0. The latest reading was below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
In January, sentiment worsened in the industrial sector (-11.2 vs -7.7 in December), the services sector (-13.0 vs -8.6 in December), the retail sector (-18.1 vs -16.2 in December) and among consumers (-19.6 vs -19.5 in December). However, sentiment turned more upbeat in the construction sector (-25.7 vs -27.7 in December).
