Hungary: Economic sentiment drops in October
Latest reading: Economic sentiment dropped to 96.7 in October, following September’s 97.2. Consequently, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
In October, sentiment darkened in the industrial sector (-8.9 vs -8.7 in September) and the services sector (-11.4 vs -11.3 in September). In contrast, sentiment turned more upbeat in the construction sector (-24.5 vs -26.0 in September), the retail sector (-16.7 vs -20.7 in September) and among consumers (-23.2 vs -24.7 in September).
