Hungary: Industrial production rebounds in January
Latest reading: Industrial production increased 0.2% in annual terms in January, following a 0.9% fall in the prior month. January’s reading was the strongest since February 2024.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, the reading for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning improved in January (+6.8% in annual terms vs -20.1% in December). In contrast, readings softened for manufacturing (+0.2% vs +1.0% in December) and mining and quarrying (-31.2% vs -21.3% in December).
On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, industrial production rose 1.5% in January, following 1.0% growth in the prior month.
