Hungary: Industrial production falls at softer clip in September
Latest reading: Industrial production fell 1.3% in annual terms in September, following a 4.8% drop in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, readings in September improved for manufacturing (-1.5% on a year-on-year basis vs -4.6% in August) and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (+5.1% vs -8.5% in August). In contrast, the reading for mining and quarrying worsened in September (-8.5% vs -6.2% in August).
In seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms, industrial production was up 1.3% in September, following a 2.2% fall in the prior month.
