Indonesia: Retail sales accelerate in October
Latest reading: Retail sales were up 4.3% on a year-on-year basis in October, following a 3.7% increase in the previous month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, readings in October improved for food, beverages, and tobacco (+6.4% on a year-on-year basis vs +5.4% in September) and cultural and recreation goods (+4.7% vs +2.6% in September). In contrast, readings softened for motor vehicles, parts and accessories (+11.4% vs +12.4% in September), automotive fuels (+5.4% vs +10.6% in September) and information and communication equipment (-33.6% vs -27.6% in September).
