Japan: Industrial production accelerates in January
Latest reading: Industrial production increased 4.3% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in January, following a 0.6% increase in the previous month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, readings in January improved for manufacturing (+4.3% in month-on-month terms vs 0.7% in December) and mining (+0.0% vs -1.7% in December).
In annual terms, industrial production rose 0.7% in January, following a 0.9% increase in the prior month.
