Kazakhstan: Inflation slows in February from the prior month
Latest reading: Consumer prices were up 11.7% in annual terms in February, following a 12.2% increase in the prior month. February’s reading was the weakest since May 2025.
Relative to the previous month’s data, there were milder price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+12.7% in annual terms vs +13.0% in January), transportation (+11.8% vs +12.4% in January), housing and utilities (+6.9% vs +8.3% in January), health (+16.2% vs +17.1% in January) and restaurants and hotels (+14.0% vs +14.4% in January).
Lastly, consumer prices increased 1.08% in February in month-on-month terms, following a 0.97% rise in the prior month.
