Latvia: Industrial production decelerates in December
Latest reading: Industrial production rose 1.0% on a year-on-year basis in December, following a 7.2% increase in the previous month. December’s reading was the weakest since March 2025.
Relative to the prior month’s data, the reading for manufacturing worsened in December (+0.4% on a year-on-year basis vs +9.1% in November). In contrast, readings improved for mining and quarrying (-18.9% vs -25.1% in November) and electricity and gas supply (+8.8% vs +3.6% in November).
On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, industrial production fell 1.4% in December, following a 0.4% decline in the previous month.
