Lithuania: Inflation rises in February from January
Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices were up 3.3% in annual terms in February, following a 2.8% rise in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, there were higher price pressures for transportation (-0.9% on a year-on-year basis vs -1.9% in January), housing and utilities (+4.4% vs +2.8% in January) and recreation (+5.7% vs +4.1% in January). In contrast, there were milder price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+4.4% vs +4.8% in January) and restaurants and hotels (+5.9% vs +6.1% in January).
Meanwhile, consumer prices increased 3.6% in annual terms in February, following a 3.1% rise in the previous month.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices were up 1.02% in February on a month-on-month basis, following a 1.17% rise in the prior month.
