Luxembourg: Inflation rises in February from January
Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices rose 1.8% on a year-on-year basis in February, following a 1.6% increase in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s data, there were higher price pressures for transportation (-1.9% in annual terms vs -3.1% in January) and housing and utilities (-1.2% vs -1.5% in January). In contrast, price pressures reduced for recreation in February (+3.7% vs +6.6% in January). Finally, the variations in food and non-alcoholic beverages and restaurants and hotels were the same as in the prior month (+2.8% and +2.5%, respectively).
Meanwhile, consumer prices rose 1.3% in annual terms in February, unchanged from the previous month’s reading.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices were up 1.40% in February on a month-on-month basis, following a 1.32% fall in the prior month.
