Malaysia: Inflation picks up in November from October
Latest reading: Consumer prices increased 1.4% in annual terms in November, following a 1.3% rise in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, price pressures were higher for transportation in November (+0.2% on a year-on-year basis vs -0.1% in October). In contrast, price pressures reduced for housing and utilities in November (+0.7% vs +1.1% in October). Finally, the changes in food and non-alcoholic beverages and recreation services and culture were the same as in the prior month (+1.5% and +1.2%, respectively).
Lastly, consumer prices were stable in November on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.07% fall in the previous month.
