Peru: Economic activity loses momentum in October
Latest reading: Economic activity increased 3.6% on a year-on-year basis in October, following a 3.9% increase in the previous month.
Relative to the previous month’s data, readings in October worsened for agriculture (+1.9% in annual terms vs +12.1% in September) and construction (+4.4% vs +10.2% in September). In contrast, readings picked up for commerce (+4.1% vs +4.0% in September), mining and hydrocarbons (+6.8% vs +2.1% in September) and manufacturing (+3.1% vs +1.7% in September).
In month-on-month terms, economic activity rose 0.1% in October, following a 0.2% increase in the prior month.
