Peru: Merchandise trade surplus increases in January
Latest reading: In January, the trade balance was USD +4.6 billion, following a USD +4.0 billion figure in the previous month. Over the last 12 months, the trade balance summed to USD +37.0 billion.
Merchandise exports were up 37.8% in annual terms in January, coming on the back of 33.5% growth in the prior month. Merchandise imports rose 5.1% in year-on-year terms in January, following a 16.4% rise in the previous month. January’s reading was the weakest since April 2025.
