Poland: Economic sentiment drops below threshold in October
Latest reading: Economic sentiment went down to 98.4 in October, following September’s 99.9. Consequently, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
In October, sentiment worsened in the industrial sector (-15.7 vs -15.5 in September) and among consumers (-4.7 vs -1.0 in September). However, sentiment turned more upbeat in the services sector (-3.0 vs -3.2 in September) and the retail sector (-1.7 vs -2.5 in September). Meanwhile, sentiment in the construction sector was stable from the prior month at -17.5.
