Poland: Industrial production rebounds in December
Latest reading: Industrial production was up 7.3% in annual terms in December, following a 1.1% fall in the previous month. December’s growth was above market expectations, and was led by machinery repair, waste management and the manufacture of metal products.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, readings in December improved for mining and quarrying (+8.7% on a year-on-year basis vs +4.5% in November), manufacturing (+7.8% vs -1.4% in November) and electricity, gas and utilities (-2.1% vs -2.7% in November).
On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, industrial production was up 3.2% in December, following a 1.6% decline in the prior month.
Lastly, in 2025 as a whole, industrial production increased by 2.1% on a year-on-year basis (2024: +1.2%), marking a three-year high.
