Poland: Retail sales lose momentum in November
Latest reading: Retail sales rose 3.3% on a year-on-year basis in November, following 5.5% growth in the previous month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, readings in November worsened for motor vehicles, motorcycles and parts (+12.9% in annual terms vs +15.6% in October) and food, beverages and tobacco (-2.9% vs +0.6% in October). In contrast, readings improved for textiles, clothing and footwear (+12.2% vs +9.0% in October), furniture, radio, TV and household appliances (+16.6% vs +13.9% in October) and fuel (+5.9% vs +4.7% in October).
In seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms, retail sales were up 1.1% in November, following a 1.9% increase in the previous month.
