Poland: Retail sales decelerate in October
Latest reading: Retail sales were up 5.5% in annual terms in October, following 6.6% growth in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, readings in October worsened for textiles, clothing and footwear (+9.0% in annual terms vs +20.5% in September), furniture, radio, TV and household appliances (+13.9% vs +16.1% in September) and fuel (+4.7% vs +7.1% in September). In contrast, readings picked up for motor vehicles, motorcycles and parts (+15.6% vs +15.0% in September) and food, beverages and tobacco (+0.6% vs +0.2% in September).
In seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms, retail sales increased 1.9% in October, following a 0.6% fall in the previous month.
