Portugal: Economic sentiment falls in March
Latest reading: Economic sentiment declined to 103.7 in March, following February’s 104.4. The latest reading was above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
In March, sentiment darkened in the retail sector (+3.5 vs +3.7 in February) and among consumers (-25.4 vs -17.1 in February). However, sentiment turned more upbeat in the industrial sector (-1.6 vs -2.1 in February) and the services sector (+7.8 vs +7.4 in February). Sentiment in the construction sector was stable from the previous month at +1.8.
