Portugal: Industrial production slows in October
Latest reading: Industrial production rose 0.4% on a calendar and seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis in October, following a 0.9% increase in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, readings in October softened for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-11.2% on a calendar and seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis vs -1.6% in September) and mining and quarrying (+2.9% vs +31.6% in September). In contrast, the reading for manufacturing improved in October (+2.2% vs +0.6% in September).
In working day and seasonally adjusted year-on-year terms, industrial production was down 0.9% in October, following a 2.4% rise in the prior month.
