Portugal: Inflation rises in November from the prior month
Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices rose 2.1% in annual terms in November, following a 2.0% rise in the previous month.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, there were higher price pressures for transportation (+1.8% on a year-on-year basis vs +1.6% in October) and restaurants and hotels (+3.9% vs +3.0% in October). In contrast, there were reduced price pressures for housing and utilities (+1.5% vs +1.9% in October) and recreation (+0.8% vs +1.1% in October). Finally, the change in food and non-alcoholic beverages prices was the same as in the prior month (+3.5% in November and October).
Meanwhile, consumer prices increased 2.2% in November, following a 2.3% rise in the prior month.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices were down 0.85% in November in month-on-month terms, following a 0.31% decline in the prior month.
