Romania: Industrial production rebounds in December
Latest reading: Industrial production rose 0.8% on a working day and seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis in December, following a 0.6% decline in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s data, readings in December improved for manufacturing (+1.2% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms vs -0.4% in November) and mining and quarrying (+0.7% vs -0.6% in November). In contrast, the reading for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply worsened in December (-2.6% vs -2.4% in November).
In working day and seasonally adjusted year-on-year terms, industrial production was up 1.7% in December, following a 0.4% drop in the prior month.
