Romania: Inflation slows in October from the prior month
Latest reading: Consumer prices rose 9.8% on a year-on-year basis in October, following a 9.9% increase in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, there were milder price pressures for food (+7.6% on a year-on-year basis vs +7.9% in September) and non-food goods (+11.0% vs +11.1% in September). In contrast, price pressures were higher for services in October (+10.5% vs +10.4% in September).
Lastly, consumer prices rose 0.50% in October on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.36% increase in the prior month.
