Romania: Inflation ebbs in December from November
Latest reading: Consumer prices increased 9.7% on a year-on-year basis in December, following a 9.8% increase in the previous month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, price pressures reduced for non-food goods in December (+10.5% in annual terms vs +10.7% in November). In contrast, price pressures were higher for food in December (+7.8% vs +7.6% in November). Finally, the variation in services prices was the same as in the prior month (+11.0% in December and November).
Lastly, consumer prices increased 0.22% in December on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.42% increase in the prior month.
