Russia: Industrial production falls at a faster clip in February
Latest reading: Industrial production fell 0.9% in annual terms in February, following a 0.8% decline in the prior month. February’s reading was the weakest since February 2025.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, the reading for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply worsened in February (+3.6% in annual terms vs +7.5% in January). In contrast, readings improved for manufacturing (-2.8% vs -3.0% in January), mining and quarrying (+0.9% vs +0.5% in January) and water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities (-2.1% vs -7.0% in January).
In calendar and seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms, industrial production increased 0.3% in February, following a flat reading in the prior month.
