Slovakia: Industrial production rebounds in December
Latest reading: Industrial production was up 6.0% on a year-on-year basis in December, following a 4.5% drop in the prior month. December’s reading was the strongest since July 2024.
Relative to the prior month’s data, readings in December improved for manufacturing (+16.5% on a year-on-year basis vs -2.5% in November). In contrast, reading deteriorated for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-25.8% vs -18.8% in November) plus mining and quarrying (-22.1% vs -6.0% in November).
On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, industrial production fell 4.9% in December, following a 8.5% fall in the previous month.
