Slovakia: Industrial production contracts faster in August
Latest reading: Industrial production was down 6.3% in annual terms in August, following a 4.7% fall in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s data, the reading for manufacturing softened in August (-4.8% on a year-on-year basis vs -2.8% in July). In contrast, readings improved for mining and quarrying (-11.0% vs -14.4% in July) and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-17.4% vs -17.6% in July).
On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, industrial production was muted in August, following a 0.9% rise in the previous month.
