Slovakia: Inflation eases in October from the prior month
Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices were up 3.9% on a year-on-year basis in October, following a 4.6% rise in the previous month and marking a six-month low.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, there were reduced price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+1.4% on a year-on-year basis vs +3.6% in September), transportation (+3.4% vs +4.2% in September) and restaurants and hotels (+8.9% vs +9.3% in September). In contrast, price pressures were higher for recreation in October (+5.4% vs +5.0% in September). Finally, the variation in housing and utilities prices was the same as in the prior month (+2.9% in October and September).
Meanwhile, consumer prices rose 3.7% in October, following a 4.3% increase in the previous month.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices were up 0.10% in October on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.19% rise in the previous month.
