Slovenia: Harmonized inflation increases in April
Latest reading: Harmonized inflation ticked up to 2.3% in April from March’s 2.2%, hovering around the Euro area average. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages rose at the fastest rate in more than a year, outweighing a decline in transportation costs and a steeper fall in housing and utilities prices.
Annual average harmonized inflation fell to 1.6% in April (March: 1.7%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation rose to 2.3% in April from March’s 2.0%.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.80% over the previous month in April, matching March’s reading.
