Spain: Economic sentiment falls in May
Latest reading: Economic sentiment decreased to 103.4 in May from April’s 103.8. Consequently, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
According to available data, the improvement was driven by stronger confidence in the construction sector. That said, sentiment in the industrial sector weakened.
Considering indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations worsened, while the economic uncertainty index rose in May.
