Spain: Retail sales stagnate in October
Latest reading: Retail sales stagnated on a working day and seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis in October, following 0.4% growth in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s data, readings in October softened for large chain stores (-0.8% on a working day and seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis vs +0.9% in September) and single retail stores (-0.2% vs +0.6% in September). Finally, the variation in small chain stores was the same as in the prior month (-0.9% in October and September).
On a year-on-year basis, retail sales rose 3.8% in October, following a 4.1% rise in the prior month.
