Spain: Unemployment rate falls in Q1
Latest reading: The unemployment rate dropped to 9.9% in Q2 from 10.8% in Q1, recording the lowest rate since 2008. Meanwhile, the number of employed people increased by 486,000 to a total of 22.8 million. Employment growth was driven mainly by the services sector, led by tourism, with modest gains in construction and industry, while agriculture saw a slight drop.
The number of unemployed decreased by 213,000 from Q1, while the number of people in the labor force grew by 272,700 to a total of 25.3 million.
