Sweden: Economic sentiment rises in January
Latest reading: Economic sentiment went up to 102.1 in January, following December’s 102.0. The latest reading was above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy and was the joint-highest since June 2022.
In January, sentiment improved in the services sector (+25.9 vs +25.2 in December), the retail sector (+27.3 vs +27.1 in December) and among consumers (-2.0 vs -3.7 in December). On the flipside, sentiment darkened in the industrial sector (-0.2 vs +1.7 in December) and the construction sector (-17.3 vs -10.1 in December).
