Sweden: Inflation stabilizes in October from the prior month
Latest reading: Consumer prices with a fixed interest rate (CPIF) were up 3.1% in annual terms in October, stable from the previous month’s reading.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, there were higher price pressures for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (-1.9% in annual terms vs -2.2% in September) and food and non-alcoholic beverages (+3.7% vs +3.3% in September). In contrast, there were milder price pressures for transportation (-0.7% vs 0.0% in September).
Meanwhile, core consumer prices—which exclude energy costs as well as the effect of interest-rate changes—were up 2.8% in annual terms in October, following a 2.7% increase in the previous month.
Lastly, consumer prices with a fixed interest rate were up 0.37% in October on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.14% rise in the previous month.
