Taiwan: Industrial production slows in February
Latest reading: Industrial production increased 17.8% on a year-on-year basis in February, following a 27.9% increase in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, readings in February softened for manufacturing (+19.6% on a year-on-year basis vs +29.7% in January), electricity and gas supply (-10.3% vs -0.7% in January) and mining and quarrying (-14.9% vs +8.0% in January). In contrast, the reading for water supply improved in February (-0.5% vs -0.8% in January).
In seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms, industrial production increased 3.5% in February, following a 0.6% drop in the previous month.
