United States: Employment rises in February
Latest reading: Employment in Australia rose by 48,900 to a new record of 14.75 million in February 2026, picking up pace from a revised increase of 26,000 in January and surpassing market expectations of a 20,300 gain. This marked the third consecutive month of job growth. The increase was driven by a sharp rise in part-time employment, while full-time employment fell.
Finally, the unemployment rate ticked up to 4.3% in February from 4.1% in January.
