Merchandise trade surplus widens in March
Latest reading: In March, the trade balance was USD +3.9 billion, following a USD +1.7 billion figure in the prior month. Over the last 12 months, the trade balance summed to USD +44.8 billion. Merchandise exports dropped 2.0% in year-on-year terms in March, following 0.5% growth in the previous month. Merchandise imports rose 3.9% in year-on-year terms in March, coming on the back of 14.0% growth in the prior month.
