Industrial production contracts less quickly in November
Latest reading: Industrial production was down 0.9% on a year-on-year basis in November, following a 3.0% fall in the previous month. Relative to the prior month's figures, readings in November improved for manufacturing (-0.5% in annual terms vs -3.1% in October) and mining and quarrying (+5.3% vs -2.0% in October). In contrast, the reading for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply worsened in November (-7.1% vs 0.0% in October). In seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms, industrial production increased 0.3% in November, following a flat reading in the previous month.
