Merchandise trade returns to a surplus in February
Latest reading: In February, the trade balance was USD +0.6 billion, following a USD -0.7 billion figure in the previous month. Over the last 12 months, the trade balance summed to USD +17.8 billion. Merchandise exports rose 10.7% in year-on-year terms in February, following 23.3% growth in the prior month. Merchandise imports increased 31.8% in annual terms in February, following 29.8% growth in the previous month. February's reading was the strongest since December 2021.
