Industrial production falls at a softer clip in October
Latest reading: Industrial production declined 0.8% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in October, following a 2.1% fall in the previous month. Relative to the previous month's data, readings in October improved for manufacturing (-0.8% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis vs -2.2% in September), mining and quarrying (+1.2% vs +1.1% in September) and energy (-1.2% vs -2.5% in September). On a year-on-year basis, industrial production increased 2.2% in October, following a 2.9% rise in the prior month.
