Industrial production returns to growth in February
Latest reading: Industrial production rose 2.6% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis in February, following a 2.8% decline in the previous month. February's reading was the strongest since May 2025. Relative to the previous month's data, the reading for manufacturing improved in February (+3.2% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis vs -3.5% in January). In contrast, readings softened for mining and quarrying (+0.4% vs +2.4% in January) and energy (-3.7% vs +1.8% in January). On a year-on-year basis, industrial production rose 2.2% in February, following a 1.9% fall in the previous month.
