Industrial production rebounds in June
Latest reading: Industrial production rose 0.2% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis in June, following a 3.1% fall in the previous month. Relative to the previous month's data, readings in June improved for manufacturing (+0.1% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis vs -3.5% in May) and energy (+1.6% vs -0.9% in May). In contrast, the reading for mining and quarrying worsened in June (-0.5% vs +1.1% in May). On a year-on-year basis, industrial production fell 1.4% in June, following a 0.1% drop in the previous month.
