Industrial production slows in February
Latest reading: Industrial production rose 0.1% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis in February, following a 0.6% increase in the previous month. Relative to the prior month's figures, the reading for non-durable consumer goods softened in February (-0.6% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms vs +0.6% in January). In contrast, readings improved for durable consumer goods (+4.3% vs -17.5% in January), capital goods (-1.2% vs -3.3% in January) and intermediate goods (+1.3% vs -1.5% in January). On a year-on-year basis, industrial production rose 1.1% in February, following a 0.2% drop in the prior month.
