Inflation slows in June from May
Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices increased 3.3% in annual terms in June, following a 3.5% rise in the prior month. Relative to the previous month's figures, there were milder price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+0.6% in annual terms vs +1.3% in May), transportation (+4.4% vs +6.6% in May), recreation (+0.1% vs +0.6% in May) and restaurants and hotels (+3.6% vs +3.7% in May). In contrast, price pressures were higher for housing and utilities in June (+7.2% vs +7.0% in May). Meanwhile, consumer prices increased 3.4% in June, following a 3.7% rise in the previous month. Finally, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.29% in June on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.10% decline in the prior month.
