Angola: Inflation ebbs in August from the prior month
Latest reading: Consumer prices rose 8.8% on a year-on-year basis in August, following a 9.3% rise in the previous month. August’s reading was the weakest since April 2015.
Education recorded the largest year-on-year price increase at 19.33%, followed by food and non-alcoholic beverages (9.94%), healthcare (9.66%), and alcoholic beverages and tobacco (9.02%).
Lastly, consumer prices increased 0.59% in August in month-on-month terms, following a 0.75% rise in the previous month.
